Arinma Holdings Committed to become a partner of the UN Global Compact

Arinma Holdings recently announced its collaboration with the UN Global Compact (UNGC), the world’s largest corporate citizenship initiative, consisting of thousands of operational business participants, and other stakeholders from civil society, labour and governments, across 160 countries around the globe. The UNGC’s mission is to support companies to align strategies and operations with ten universal principles, and to take strategic actions that advance societal goals, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), with an emphasis on collaboration and innovation.

“Arinma Holdings supports the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact,” said NuwanGamage, Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications, Arinma Holdings. “Whist as a Group, Arinma Holdings has always demonstrated our support to advance sustainable development goals of the UN through the initiation and execution of multiple projects that have significantly uplifted the living conditions of rural communities in Sri Lanka, officially partnering with the UNGC is a reflection of the company’s commitment to adhere to the best practices in corporate citizenship and sustainability” he added.

As part of the Global Compact network, Arinma Holdings gains access to various learning and engagement opportunities. These include 80-plus country and regional networks where issues and activities are driven at a local level; practical tools and guidance documents on the principles and other priority issues; and international and local events where multi-stakeholder participants can exchange experiences, partake in learning and problem-solving exercises, engage in dialogue and identify like-minded organizations for partnering projects.

Moreover, as a participating organization, Arinma Holdings will submit a Communication on Progress (COP) annually as an integrity measure that describes the company’s efforts to implement the ten principles. The COP is a process for assessing and demonstratingaccountability and credibility of the company’s actions to incorporate responsible practices into operational activities to bring meaningful change to society.

As an organization that engages in the development of sustainable infrastructure solutions, Arinma Holdings addresses critical environmental, social, and economic imperatives through cutting edge, human-centric infrastructure solutions that meet community aspirations of prosperity, social justice and sustainability.
