Tata Motors’ Nexon has scored an impressive four stars (out of five) in a crash test conducted by the Global NCAP. Child occupant safety was rated at a respectable three stars. The crash test agency rated the body structure to be ‘stable’. Protection for the driver and co-driver’s head and neck was deemed to be good, whereas chest protection was rated ‘adequate’. NCAP also pointed out that front occupants’ knees could impact with a structure behind the dashboard. As far as child safety is concerned, NCAP rated protection for the child’s head to be good and chest to be marginal. The Tata Nexon goes up against the likes of theMaruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza,theFord EcoSportand theMahindra TUV300.
