17 positions in Local Government bodies go to UNP

The Deputy Leader of the Colombo District has decided to remove the existing representatives from the 17 local government bodies and to appoint them to the United National Party (UNP). Former MP Ravi Karunanayake says.
Several political parties affiliated to the United National Front (UNP) have decided to take back the positions of several local government bodies given to them due to the alliance with the United National Party (UNP). Mr. Karunanayake says that he has not been arrested.
Accordingly Ravi Karunanayake stated that the posts of local government bodies given to several political parties including the SLMC, JHU and All Ceylon Muslim Congress will be taken back to the UNP. He further stated that all these decisions were approved unanimously at the UNP Working Committee meeting held on Friday (29).
