Booster dose administered for frontline workers

The Government has commenced providing the third or the booster dose of Covid-19 vaccines today at the Army Hospital premises – Narahenpita for the Army frontline workers who were vaccinated the first two doses 6 months before and are at the frontline duties of preventing Covid-19. They were vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine as their 3rd dose on instructions of the CDS & Comd of the Army General Shavendra Silva.

Adding a new dimension and to further strengthen the National vaccination drive, the Army’s Covid-19 vaccination fleet has started to administer the third dose of the vaccination (Booster dose) today.

At the request of the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the National vaccination fleet is assisted by the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps along with the Army personnel as per directions of the Head, National Operation Center for Prevention of Covid-19 Outbreak, Chief of Defence Staff, and Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva.
