Measures are being taken to establish another 105MW thermal power plant at the Kelanitissa premises, said Power Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi.
She also noted that steps will be taken to streamline the home roof mounted solar power generation, adding that urgent steps are being taken by the government to address the power crisis that has arisen as no power generation plants had been added to the national drid in recent times to meet the growing demand.
These views were expressed during a special inspection tour chaired by the Power Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi today (14) to monitor the current status of power plants installed around Colombo in order to alleviate the challenging situation faced by the country in meeting the daily electricity demand.
