Women Esports athletes shine at
Gamer.LK’s Women’s Cyber Games

The 4th edition of the annual Women’s Cyber Games (WCG) event, conceptualised and
executed by Sri Lanka’s premier Esports company, Gamer.LK, came to a close recently. The
multi-title Esports tournament which began in 2019, is held each year and dedicated towards
empowering the female Esports athletes in the country allowing them to showcase their skills in
the competitive field of Esports.
Over 300 female gamers from varying social backgrounds across the island signed up for this
year’s event which was held entirely online, allowing participants to play remotely from the
comfort of their homes. Esports is known as the fastest-growing sport in the country and an
officially recognised sport in Sri Lanka by the Ministry of Sports.
“With Esports positioned to be one of the biggest sports in Sri Lanka, we at Gamer.LK want to
ensure equal opportunity for all athletes to excel in the sport, regardless of gender. The
performances & passion that participants showed at the Women’s Cyber Games was
remarkable, and a testament to the skill level of Sri Lankan women Esports athletes” said
Raveen Wijayatilake, CEO of Gamer.LK.
The Women’s Cyber Games championship was played over a month of exciting matches across
13 game titles. Tech Morph Frost Fairies captained by Gimhani ‘Tiana’ Thashmila came out on
top in Mobile Legends while ZEGG.FE captained by Sumuduni ‘MeduZa’ Shashikala was
