Sri Lanka Insurance launches Motorplus Drive60, a comprehensive motor insurance package for senior citizens

Sri Lanka Insurance (SLIC), the Nation’s first choice for Risk
Protection and Life Investment, recently launched a brand new and specially designed motor
insurance policy with unique benefits for individuals over the age of 60. SLIC’s Motorplus
Drive60 comprehensive motor insurance package for senior citizens is the first of its kind to
be introduced in Sri Lanka.
After careful market research, SLIC’s findings revealed that the aging population in Sri Lanka
is rapidly increasing. With 12.3% of the population over the age of 60 years, Sri Lanka has
the highest proportion of older adults in South Asia. Given the statistics, the introduction of
Motorplus Drive60 is a timely initiative by SLIC.
As a part of the insurance cover, As a part of the insurance cover, a free towing cover of Rs.
10,000/-, call and move service is available in the event of an accident for private cars and
private dual-purpose vehicles with a sum insured greater than Rs. 5 million, cashless repair
facilities, and Bee Express speedy claim settlement within 3 working hours Waiving off after
repair inspection for claims under Rs. 100,000, waiving off salvage parts, special repair
offers for claims and discounted packages from private hospitals will be included as some of
the many value additions to the benefit of senior citizens.
Additionally, SLIC has partnered with Lanka Hospitals and Nawaloka Hospitals to offer
exclusive discount packages for a range of medical services, inclusive of ambulance call-
outs for all Motorplus Drive60 Policyholders.
SLIC’s Motorplus Drive60 policy can be purchased or renewed by anyone who is over the
age of 60 by producing their National Identity Card number or Motor Plus Insurance
certificate to be entitled to the benefits and special packages. Interested senior citizens are
