From the students admitted to the Arts faculty at the University of Peradeniya this year 87 percent are females, University authorities said. This year, out of 1,130 new students admitted to the Arts Faculty, 980 are females.
University authorities said over recent years the number of female students qualifying for Universities has increased significantly.
