Recoveries from Navy mount to 756

Eighteen new cases of Covid-19 have been reported increasing the tally of confirmed cases in the country to 1,946. All 18 new cases are returnees from Dubai, according to the Government Information Department.

Accordingly a total of 22 fresh cases were detected on Thursday (18). Around 514 patients infected with Coronavirus are currently under medical care at hospitals while 1,421 patients have recovered thus far.

Eight more naval personnel who had tested positive for the COVID-19 virus have recovered from the disease, says Sri Lanka Navy.

As these sailors were found negative to the virus on the reports of random PCR tests carried out under treatment, they have been discharged from hospitals on Thursday (18).

The total number of coronavirus recoveries from the Navy accordingly reached 756. These discharged navy men will undergo a 14-day quarantine procedure in compliance with the healthcare regulations. The Navy has reported a total of 901 positive cases of coronavirus to date.

The number of coronavirus cases reported in Sri Lanka currently sits at 1,947. Out of this total 1,421 patients have made complete recoveries. Currently, 515 active cases are under medical care at selected hospitals across the island, according to the Epidemiology Unit
