The Gujarat government and the railway ministry will sign an MoU worth Rs 67,000 crore for the Mumbai Ahmedabad bullet (high speed) train project at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit beginning January 10.

The project is estimated to be completed in six years. Maharashtra and Gujarat will each bear 25% of the project cost, while the remaining 50% will be borne by the Centre. The train will run between Sabarmati station in Ahmedabad and Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai.
A Gujarat government official said, “Around 70% of geographical area of the project and a majority of the stations will be in Gujarat, so a large part of the development work will happen in Gujarat.”
