    6 වන තරඟාවලියේදී Colombo Kaps කණ්ඩායමේ හිමිකාරීත්වය Witness Sports Alliance LLC සමාගමට

    එළඹෙන LPL තරඟාවලියේදී Colombo Kaps කණ්ඩායමේ හිමිකාරිත්වය Saranyan Palaniswamy සහ K.C. Shyam Kangayan විසින් මෙහෙයවනු ලබන Witness Sports Alliance LLC සමාගම වෙත පැවරෙන බව නිල වශයෙන් නිවේදනය කරන ලදී.

    ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ප්‍රධානතම T20 ක්‍රිකට් තරඟාවලිය වන LPL වෙනුවෙන්  Colombo Kaps කණ්ඩායම සූදානම් වන අවස්ථාවක, මෙම නව හිමිකාරිත්වය එහි ඉදිරි ගමනට තැබූ වැදගත් පියවරක් ලෙස සඳහන් කළ හැකිය. Witness Sports Alliance LLC සමාගම යටතේ, කොළඹ නගරයේ ක්‍රිකට් උද්‍යෝගය සහ ක්‍රීඩාශීලීත්වය මනාව දැකගත හැකි අයුරින් ප්‍රබල, වාණිජමය වශයෙන් ශක්තිමත් සහ ප්‍රේක්ෂකයින් ආකර්ෂණය කරගන්නා කණ්ඩායමක් නිර්මාණය කිරීමට ඔවුන් අවධානය යොමු කරනු ඇත.

    ශක්තිමත් කණ්ඩායමක් නිර්මාණය කිරීමේ මූලික පියවරක් ලෙස , Colombo Kaps කණ්ඩායම විසින් ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ දක්ෂ පිතිකරුවකු මෙන්ම කඩුලු රකින්නකු වන කුසල් මෙන්ඩිස් සහ තුන්ඉරියව් ක්‍රීඩක කමිඳු මෙන්ඩිස් පෙර-ගිවිසුම් හරහා කණ්ඩායමට එක කර ගෙන ඇත. මේ හරහා එළඹෙන තරඟාවලිය සඳහා ප්‍රබල දේශීය නියෝජනයක් කණ්ඩායමට ලැබී ඇති අතරම ජාත්‍යන්තර අත්දැකීම්, තරඟ ජයග්‍රහණය කරවීමේ හැකියාව සහ ශ්‍රී ලාංකීය ක්‍රීකට් ප්‍රේක්ෂකයින් අතර ඇති ජනප්‍රියත්වය අතින් මෙම ක්‍රීඩයින් දෙදෙනාම පෙරමුණ ගෙන සිටියි.

    නව හිමිකාරිත්වය සාදරයෙන් පිළිගනිමින් LPL තරඟාවලි අධ්‍යක්ෂ සමන්ත දොඩන්වෙල මහතා“ LPL හි 6 වන අදියර සඳහා Colombo Kaps  කණ්ඩායමේ නව හිමිකරුවන් ලෙස Witness Sports Alliance LLC සමාගම එක් කර ගැනීමට ලැබීම පිළිබඳව ශ්‍රී ලංකා ක්‍රිකට් ආයතනය ඉතා සතුටට පත්වනවා. කොළඹ කියන්නේ ක්‍රිකට් ක්‍රීඩාවේ වැදගත් මධ්‍යස්ථානයක්. මේ තරඟාවලියේ අඛණ්ඩ වර්ධනය වෙනුවෙන් මෙවැනි කැපවීමක් ඇති හිමිකරුවන් ඉදිරිපත් වීම සතුටට කරුණක් වනවා. ” යනුවෙන් පැවසීය.

    Achieves ISO 14064 GHG Verification – Reasonable Level of Assurance

    Bairaha Farms PLC has achieved a landmark milestone in corporate sustainability, becoming one of Sri Lanka’s leading poultry-businesses to receive Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Verification at the organizational level with a “reasonable level of assurance”. The ISO 14064 framework provides two levels of verification assurance with reasonable assurance representing the higher and more rigorous standard. By achieving the higher standard, Bairaha Farms PLC has demonstrated the accuracy, transparency and integrity of its carbon footprint reporting, positioning the Company at the forefront of climate accountability in Sri Lanka’s poultry production sector.

    This confirms that the firm’s GHG statement has been prepared in full compliance with ISO 14064-1:2018; which is the internationally recognized standard for quantifying and reporting greenhouse gas emissions and removals at the organizational level and independently verified in accordance with ISO 14064-3:2019.

    While the certification was issued by the Sri Lanka Climate Fund (Pvt) Ltd, under the purview of the Ministry of Environment, making it the only poultry company to achieve this status under the purview of the Ministry of Environment. The official certificate was presented in early 2026 at the Secretary’s Office of the Ministry of Environment. It was formally handed over by the Secretary to the Ministry of Environment and Chairman of the Sri Lanka Climate Fund K R Uduwawala in the presence of senior representatives from both institutions. Those in attendance included Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Sri Lanka Climate Fund Harshani Abeyrathna, Assistant Manager – Project and Quality Management Yashodha Lekamge and Project Executive Madhubhashini Gunathilaka.

    Managing Director of Bairaha Farms PLC Yakooth Naleem commented: “This verification from the Sri Lanka Climate Fund is a defining moment for Bairaha Farms. Attaining this level of international independent climate verification has significant positive implications for our stakeholders, which include local communities and global partners. Responsible business leadership demands transparency, and accountability on measuring and mitigating our environmental footprint. As we mark 50 years of nourishing this nation, this certification reaffirms our commitment to ensuring that our next chapter is built on a foundation of genuine sustainability.”

    This certification comes at a time when global markets increasingly demand traceable, low-carbon supply chains. This achievement positions Bairaha Farms PLC as a credible partner for international buyers and regulatory stakeholders alike. It signals the Company’s readiness to align with evolving environmental, social, and governance (ESG) expectations, contributing meaningfully to Sri Lanka’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement.

    South-West monsoon is gradually getting established over the island.

    Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.

    Several spells of showers will occur in Northern province and in Anuradhapura and Hambanthota districts.

    Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva and Eastern provinces and in Polonnaruwa district after 2.00 pm.

    Fairly strong winds about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over Western slopes of the central hills, Northern, North-central and North-western provinces and in Hambantota district.

    The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

    மத்திய மலைநாட்டின் மேற்கு சரிவுப் பகுதிகளிலும் வடக்கு, வடமத்திய மற்றும் வடமேல் மாகாணங்களிலும் ஹம்பாந்தோட்டை மாவட்டத்திலும் அவ்வப்போது மணித்தியாலத்துக்கு 30-40 கிலோ மீற்றர் வரையான வேகத்தில் ஓரளவு பலத்த காற்று வீசக் கூடும் என எதிர்பார்க்கப் படுகின்றது.

    இடியுடன் கூடிய மழை பெய்யும் வேளைகளில் அப் பிரதேசங்களில் தற்காலிகமாக வீசக் கூடிய பலத்த காற்று மற்றும் மின்னல் தாக்கங்களினால் ஏற்படக்கூடிய பாதிப்புகளை குறைத்துக்கொள்ள தேவையான முன்னெச்சரிக்கை நடவடிக்கைகளை எடுத்துக் கொள்ளுமாறு பொதுமக்கள் அறிவுறுத்தப் படுகின்றார்கள்.

    ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ප්‍රමුඛ පෙළේ විශ්ව විද්‍යාල, සෞඛ්‍ය සේවා වෘත්තිකයන්, ප්‍රතිපත්ති සම්පාදකයින් සහ ගෝලීය සෞඛ්‍ය සංවිධාන  එක්ව “ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ දුම්කොළ භාවිතය හා  දුම්පානය නැවැත්වීම වැඩි දියුණු කිරීමේ උපාය මාර්ග” පිළිබඳ සාකච්ඡාවක් සහ මාධ්‍ය හමුවක් 2026 මැයි 14 වන දින කොළඹ සිනමන් ලේක්සයිඩ් හෝටලයේ ඩියුක්ස් කෝට් 2 හි පැවැත්වීමට සූදානම් කර ඇත.

    මෙම සාකච්ඡාව සඳහා ගරු සෞඛ්‍ය නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය වෛද්‍ය හංසක විජේමුණි මහතා, සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශයේ ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ නිලධාරීන්, ලෝක සෞඛ්‍ය සංවිධානයේ (WHO)  නියෝජිතයින් සහ දුම්කොළ හා මධ්‍යසාර පිළිබඳ ජාතික අධිකාරියේ (NATA) නියෝජිතයින්, වෛද්‍යවරුන්, විශ්ව විද්‍යාල විද්වතුන්, ශ්‍රී ලංකා වෛද්‍ය සංගමයේ (SLMA) සාමාජිකයින් සහ ADIC, සර්වෝදය සහ CCT ඇතුළු රාජ්‍ය නොවන සංවිධානවල නියෝජිතයින් ඇතුළු කීර්තිමත් සහභාගීත්ව මණ්ඩලයක් එක්වනු ඇත.

    RESPIRE යනු එඩින්බරෝ විශ්ව විද්‍යාලය සහ මලයා විශ්ව විද්‍යාලය සමනායකත්වය දරන ව්‍යාපෘතියක් වන අතර බංග්ලාදේශය, භූතානය, ඉන්දියාව, ඉන්දුනීසියාව, මැලේසියාව, පකිස්ථානය, ශ්‍රී ලංකාව සහ එක්සත් රාජධානිය යන රටවල් ද එහි සාමාජිකත්වය දරයි. ආසියානු ජනගහනයේ ශ්වසන රෝග සහ ඒ ආශ්‍රිත  මරණ අවම කිරීම සඳහා ප්‍රතිපත්ති නිර්මාණය  සහ සායනික මැදිහත්වීම් සිදු කිරීම  කෙරෙහි මෙමගින් අවධානය යොමු කරයි.

    එක්සත් රාජධානියේ ජාතික සෞඛ්‍ය හා සත්කාර පර්යේෂණ ආයතනය (NIHR) විසින් RESPIRE ව්‍යාපෘතියට අරමුදල් සපයනු ලබයි.

    මෙම වැඩසටහනේ ප්‍රධාන අරමුණක්ද ලෙස ශ්‍රී ජයවර්ධපුර විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයෙන් ආචාර්ය   උපාධිය හදාරන ලද  කොතලාවල ආරක්ෂක විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ කථිකාචාර්ය ආචාර්ය ප්‍රසන්න හේරත් විසින් පරීක්ෂණාත්ම හෝ තහවුරු කරන ලද  ඒක පුද්ගල දුම් පානය නිවාරණය සම්බන්ධ විද්‍යාත්මක ක්‍රමවේදය හඳුන්වා දීම සිදු කරන ලද අතර 15 වනදා ඒ සම්බන්ධයෙන් සෞඛ්‍යය වෘත්තකයන් සහ විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ  කතිකාචාර්යවරුන්   සියයක් පුහුණු කිරීමටද නියමිතය. පර්යේෂණය මහාචාර්ය සාවිත්‍රී විමලසේකර, මහාචාර්ය තමරා අමරසේකර,  ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ කතිකාචාර්ය මනෝජ් ප්‍රනාන්දු සහ ස්. ටුරාලේ ගේ අධීක්ෂණය යටතේ සිදු කර ඇත.

    මෙමගින් ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ සෞඛ්‍ය සම්පන්න, දුම්පානයෙන්  තොර අනාගතයක් ගොඩනැගීම සදහා  සහයෝගී ක්‍රියාමාර්ග දිරිමත් කිරීම මෙන්ම ඒ සදහා ප්‍රතිපත්ති සම්පාදකයින්, සෞඛ්‍ය සේවා වෘත්තිකයන්, පර්යේෂකයින් සහ සිවිල් සමාජ සංවිධාන අතර සංවාදය ශක්තිමත් කිරීම අරමුණු කරගෙන ඇත.

    South Asia’s first ever “One Love Reggae Festival” will be held from 7 to 9 August 2026 in Bentota Beach, its organisers announced yesterday.

    The festival will feature 9 legendary international reggae headlining artists making it one of the largest reggae gatherings ever staged in the region. Starting daily from 5.00 p.m. onwards, fans can expect three days of vibrant music, cultural expression, and unity.

    Jaffna Kings announced that the franchise will come under the ownership of Sports Commune, led by Indian sports entrepreneurs Manjot Kalra and Mayank Goel, ahead of Lanka Premier League Season 6.

    A former India U19 World Cup cricketer, Kalra brings first-hand cricketing experience together with sports entrepreneurship, digital media and youth engagement. As Co-Founder of Sports Commune, he has focused on creating structured opportunities for young athletes and building stronger connections between players, fans and sporting communities.

    Goel, also Co-Founder of Sports Commune, is an entrepreneur with interests across digital security, insurance and sports development. He is the Founder of Softsecure Infotech Pvt. Ltd. and Shree Dhyan Insurance Brokers Private Limited, and has supported youth cricket through tournaments for teenage players and corporate cricket initiatives.

    The Jaffna Kings have also pre-signed Sri Lanka batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa and all-rounder Dunith Wellalage, giving the franchise a strong local foundation as it prepares for the upcoming season.

    Several spells of showers will occur in Anuradhapura district.

    Mahindra Ideal Finance Limited (MIFL), 2026 මාර්තු 31 වන දිනෙන් අවසන් වූ මූල්‍ය වසර සඳහා සිය ඉතිහාසයේ සාර්ථකම හා ඉහළම මූල්‍ය ප්‍රතිඵල වාර්තා කිරීමට සමත්ව ඇත. එහිදී සමාගමේ ලාභදායිත්වය, ණය ලබා දීමේ ප්‍රමාණය සහ මෙහෙයුම් කාර්යක්ෂමතාව යන අංශවල කැපී පෙනෙන වර්ධනයක් සනිටුහන් කිරීමට සමාගම සමත්ව තිබේ.

    අදාල කාල පරිච්ඡේදයේදී MIFL රු. මිලියන 818 ක බදු පෙර ලාභයක් වාර්තා කර ඇති අතර, එය පසුගිය වසරට සාපේක්ෂව 193%ක කැපී පෙනෙන වර්ධනයකි. මේ අතර සමාගමේ බදු පසු ලාභය පසුගිය වසරට සාපේක්ෂව 228% කින් රු. මිලියන 478ක් දක්වා වර්ධනය වී ඇත. 2025-26 මූල්‍ය වර්ෂය තුළ සමාගම ලබාදුන් සමස්ත ණය ප්‍රමාණය රු. බිලියන 57.6ක් දක්වා වර්ධනය වී ඇති අතර, එය පසුගිය වසරට සාපේක්ෂව 98%ක කැපී පෙනෙන ඉහළ යාමකි. MIFL සතු විවිධ මූල්‍ය සේවා යටතේ ණය පහසුකම් ලබාදීම අඛණ්ඩව පුළුල් කිරීම මෙම වර්ධනයට ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් හේතු විය.

    මෙම වසර තුළ සමාගමේ මෙහෙයුම් කාර්යක්ෂමතාව කැපී පෙනෙන වර්ධනයක් පෙන්නුම් කළේය- ආදායමට සාපේක්ෂ පිරිවැය අනුපාතය (cost-to-income)  68.9% සිට 50.5% දක්වා සැලකිය යුතු ලෙස අඩු වී ඇති අතර මෙහෙයුම් පිරිවැය අනුපාතය (Opex ratio) ද 8.0% සිට 5.6% දක්වා පහළ ගොස් ඇත. සමාගමේ ලාභදායිත්වයද තවදුරටත් ශක්තිමත් වී ඇති අතර, පසුගිය වසරේ 1.88% හා සැසඳීමේදී වත්කම් මත ප්‍රතිලාභ අනුපාතය (ROA) 3.40% ක් සහ කොටස් හිමිකම් මත ප්‍රතිලාභ අනුපාතය (ROE) පසුගිය වසරේ 4.85% හා සැසඳීමේදී 14.40% ක් ලෙස වාර්තා වී ඇත. මෙමගින් සමාගමේ ඉපැයීම්වල ගුණාත්මකභාවය සහ ප්‍රාග්ධනය ඵලදායී ලෙස භාවිත කර ඇති බව මැනවින් පැහැදිලි වෙයි.

    MIFL හි ශක්තිමත් ණය ලබා දීමේ ක්‍රියාවලිය හේතුවෙන් සමාගමේ සමස්ත ණය කළඹ රු. බිලියන 26.95ක් දක්වා වර්ධනය වූ අතර, එය පසුගිය වසරට සාපේක්ෂව 82%ක කැපී පෙනෙන ඉහළ යාමකි. මේ අතර සමාගමේ සමස්ත වත්කම් ප්‍රමාණය ද පසුගිය වසරට සාපේක්ෂව 81%කින් ඉහළ ගොස් රු. බිලියන 30.98ක් දක්වා වර්ධනය වී ඇත. මීට අමතරව, විචක්ෂණශීලි ණය ඇගයීම් ක්‍රමවේද සහ ශක්තිමත් ණය අයකර ගැනීමේ ක්‍රියාවලිය හේතුවෙන් සමාගමේ වත්කම්වල ගුණාත්මකභාවය තවදුරටත් වර්ධනය වී ඇති අතර එහි ප්‍රතිඵලයක් ලෙස Gross Stage 3 (අක්‍රිය ණය) අනුපාතය 1.86% සිට 1.73% දක්වා අඩු කර ගැනීමට සමාගම සමත්ව ඇත.
