Prince Harry, Meghan Markle officially return royal patronages to the Queen

Prince Harry and Megan Markle have confirmed that the couple will not return as working members of the Royal Family, Buckingham Palace confirmed in a statement on Friday.

The honorary appointments and royal patronages as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be returned to the Queen and will be redistributed to the Royal Family. The statement further continued, “While all are saddened by their decision, The Duke and Duchess remain much loved members of the family.”

The couple announced their decision of stepping back as senior members of the Royal Family in January 2020 and moved to Los Angeles, California with their son Archie.

The decision was made official, according to the Buckingham Palace, after agreeing to a 12-month review before making the final decision by the Duke and Duchess.
