Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation General Limited (SLICGL), the nation’s No. 1 General Insurer, has launched a ‘SLICGL Digital’ App’ recently. With over 60 years of trusted, government‑backed service, SLICGL brings the credibility of a proven institution to a modern digital experience.
Through the SLICGL Digital App, motor insurance is now truly at one’s fingertips. Customers can access policy details, track claim status, renew policies, and view their motor card, all from a single mobile platform. The App also supports the download of the digital insurance card, in line with the new guidelines issued by the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (IRCSL), effective May 1, 2026.
The initiative is part of SLICGL’s digital transformation journey, designed to deliver faster, smarter, and more convenient insurance solutions. In simplifying insurance interactions and enabling anytime, anywhere access, the SLIC Digital App eliminates the need to contact a call centre. The App addresses long‑standing perceptions that insurance services are complicated, time‑consuming, and branch‑dependent. Instead, SLICGL is established as a modern, technology‑driven insurer delivering tangible convenience to vehicle owners, young professionals, and digitally active consumers.
The launch of the Digital App also follows SLICGL motor insurance segment’s strong performance in 2025. It further strengthens the organisation’s position as the undisputed No.1 in motor insurance, reinforcing its overall leadership as Sri Lanka’s No.1 General Insurer
