TikTok has released its Q1 2026 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, showcasing its ongoing commitment to creating a safe digital space for its users. The report, which covers data from January to March 2026, details the proactive steps TikTok has taken to identify and remove content that violates its Community Guidelines, ensuring a positive experience for its global community.
In Q1 2026, TikTok removed 441,089 videos in Sri Lanka, representing approximately 0.5% of all content uploaded to the platform for Community Guidelines violations. Nearly all of these videos, 99.1%, were identified and removed proactively by TikTok before any user reports. Of these videos proactively removed, 95% were taken down within 24 hours of posting. 20051 videos were restored on the platform during the same period.
Globally, TikTok removed a total of 184 million (184,012,576) videos worldwide in this quarter, which represents about 0.5% of all content uploaded to the platform. Of the removed videos, 178,014,154 videos were detected and taken down using automated detection technologies, while 8,838,710 videos were reinstated after further review.
During Q1 2026, the number of videos removed before receiving a single view decreased, reflecting ongoing improvements in AI-driven moderation. These AI systems are also becoming increasingly effective at identifying and removing older content.
Moreover, comment removals decreased significantly due to an enforcement strategy focused on restricting potentially offensive or inappropriate comments. A total of 237,517,128 comments were removed globally during the quarter, up from 218,793,572 in Q4 2025.
The proactive removal rate was 99.3%, with 94.4% of flagged content removed within 24 hours of posting. To uphold TikTok’s integrity, the platform removed 86,288,705 fake accounts this quarter, along with an additional 25,764,372 accounts suspected of being under the age of 13.
The report also indicates that 18.6% of the total removed videos contained sensitive or mature themes that did not align with TikTok’s content policies. An additional 12.6% violated the platform’s safety and civility standards. Of the removed videos, 16.5% were identified as containing dangerous activities and challenges, and 12.9% involved body exposure and sexualized behaviors. Meanwhile, 2.1% of the videos removed were flagged as edited media and AI-generated content (AIGC).
