Minister of State for Pharmaceuticals, Regulation and Supply Prof. Channa Jayasumana yesterday said the support and patience by the public was essential for the success of the COVID-19 vaccination programme.
The State Minister pointed out that some people had behaved in an unruly manner at vaccination centres in the Western Province. He said these centres were overcrowded as some people had gone there to get vaccinated even without a prior notice and requested the public to assist in making the vaccination programme a success.
The Minister of State pointed out that the people should be patient as it has been decided to give the coronavirus vaccine to all persons above the age of 18 years. He further said that the public should follow the instructions of health officials and only go for vaccination following a notice by the authorities.
