SLT-MOBITEL partners Maduru Oya Army Training School andTrincomalee Divisional Secretariat to support COVID affected communities

SLT-MOBITEL partnered with the Maduru Oya Army Training School and Trincomalee Divisional Secretariat
in an initiative recently, to distribute dry ration packs to communities affected due to Covid-19 restrictions
in the Polonnaruwa and Trincomalee areas.
Dry rations packs worth Rs 2,500 each containing essential items were provided to 450 families, who have
been unable to provide for their daily needs during these challenging times.
Understanding many hardships faced by the nation due to the pandemic, SLT-MOBITEL has been
continuously supporting communities through a host of key initiatives; including, supporting frontline staff,
donation of medical equipment, Personal Protective Equipment, connectivity solutions for quarantine
centers and other essential items and assisting public and private institutions in ensuring uninterrupted
connectivity.
In addition, SLT-MOBITEL introduced a meritorious initiative themed ‘Daana Paaramitha’ in lieu of Vesak to
help communities that were affected due to COVID 19. Both Pre-Paid and Post-Paid customers can simply
donate via SMS by simply typing ‘YES’ and sending it to 255. For every SMS Rs. 50 will be charged and in
return, SLT-MOBITEL will match all public donations and will double the funds collected. The funds
collected will be used to distribute dry rations, medical supplies and relief kits to Sri Lankan communities in
distress.
