Leading integrated financial services provider HNB FINANCE PLC organized a
successful blood donation drive at the Rawathawatta Sri Wachissara Meditation Centre in Moratuwa, on
August 13, 2022, commencing at 9:00am through to 3:00pm.
The donation drive was organized by the HNB FINANCE Moratuwa Branch, with the leadership of
Branch Manager Krishan Fernando, along with his team and representatives from HNB FINANCE.
“With the ongoing shortages of medicines, healthcare facilities and even blood types for transfusions for
patients in need, we believe that this drive, and other similar ones we organize will assist the local
healthcare sector by providing vital elements, in this case blood, to patients in critical need,” commented
HNB FINANCE PLC AGM Pathum Sampath Cooray.
The drive saw the participation of 90 people who made generous donations of blood, and the blood was
distributed between the University Hospital KDU in Werahera, Boralesgamuwa, and the National Blood
Transfusion Service (NBTS) in Narahenpita.
Doctors and staff from the KDU were present during the blood drive and assisted with the efforts of
HNB FINANCE representatives in making the blood donation drive a success. The company thanks
these heroic individuals for their contributions during the drive, and active service to the country’s
healthcare system.
Moreover, participants who were present were provided refreshments, and were also given a plant to
take home as part of the company’s social responsibility towards green initiatives.
