The Colombo Public Library Wellawatte Peterson Branch Library launch “ Wellawatte Saraswathi Natham Magazine ” and Prize Giving of National Reading Month was held recently at the Muslim Ladies College Hall, Bambalapitiya, Colombo.
It was held under the patronage of Mrs. Kanchanamala Uthayakumaran, Librarian, Wellawatte Branch. President of the Reader Circle T. C. Jeewajoini delivered the welcome address.
Colombo Public Library Chief Librarian Ms. Varuni Gangabadaarachchi was present as chief guest.
Muslim Ladies College Principal Mrs. Nasriya Munas and Retired Principal Mrs. Ananthy Sivagnanasuntharam was present as special guest.
Hassim Omar Foundation Chairman Hassim Omar received the first copy of magazine from Colombo Public Library Chief Librarian Ms. Varuni Gangabadaarachchi at this ceremony.
Also distributed awards to the students who took part National Reading Month programme.
Primary students of Muslim Ladies College presented cultural events at the ceremony.
