REIGNITE SRI LANKA 2023

The CA Sri Lanka – Australia Chapter Inc. recognises the important role our business diaspora can
play in social and economic recovery efforts of Sri Lanka. Establishing a common platform for Sri
Lankan entrepreneurs and businesspeople in Australia to connect and collaborate with their
counterparts in Australia and Sri Lanka, and respective government agencies is fundamental to
meeting this objective. To that end, the CA Sri Lanka – Australia Chapter Inc., is proud to announce
its first Business Forum, REIGNITE SRI LANKA 2023, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Sri
Lanka in Melbourne, Australia scheduled to be held at Crown Melbourne on Wednesday, 17 May
2023.
REIGNITE SRI LANKA 2023 aims to facilitate greater collaboration, sharing knowledge and
experience, and engagement among the Sri Lankan business community in Australia, their
counterparts in Australia and Sri Lanka and respective government agencies to support economic
and social recovery and development efforts in Sri Lanka. This event is an excellent platform for
promoting businesses, fostering collaborations, and improving trade and investment opportunities
between the two countries.
The target audience for REIGNITE SRI LANKA 2023, Business Forum includes the Sri Lankan business
community in Australia, Australian investors, and representatives from media and chambers of
commerce. The event features speeches from Mr. Sanjaya Bandara, the President of the Institute of
Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka), Mr. Sandith Samarasinghe, the Consul General of
Sri Lanka to Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania, Mr. Chalaka Gajabahu, the Chairman of Sri Lanka
Tourism Promotion Bureau, and key representatives of the business community in Australia.
The event offers opportunities to promote businesses, collaborate with business representatives,
and share experiences with speakers and the broader business community in Australia. REIGNITE SRI
LANKA 2023 also aims to promote Sri Lanka as a preferred tourist destination, Climate Prosperity
Plan of Sri Lanka and investment opportunities with Colombo Port City.

The CA Sri Lanka – Australia Chapter Inc. (the Chapter) is an affiliated overseas member body of CA
Sri Lanka. The Chapter aims to promote cohesion and camaraderie among CA Sri Lanka members,
enhance their capabilities, and take initiatives that benefit the broader Sri Lankan and Australian
community. Over 630 CA Sri Lanka members live in Australia and since formation of the Chapter in
2020, the Chapter has established itself as a leading Sri Lankan professional association in Australia.
The Chapter organises well-attended professional development programs for members, professional
accountants and has partnered with the efforts of many community organisations over the past
three years to deliver financial and other outcomes to the people in both Australia and Sri Lanka.
The Executive Committee is the governing body of the Chapter, comprising 15 Committee members,
appointed by the members to act on behalf of the Chapter within the powers granted by the
Constitution of the Chapter. The Chapter’s vision is to be the global collaborative platform for the
members of CA Sri Lanka, with a mission to be a leading overseas Chapter of CA Sri Lanka, promoting
members’ global standing, value proposition, collaboration, and camaraderie.
