BYD Opens Galle Showroom, Strengthening Presence in Southern Sri Lanka

BYD, the world’s leading New Energy Vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, together with its authorized Sri Lankan distributor, John Keells CG Auto (JKCG Auto), has expanded its footprint with the launch of its newest showroom located on the Southern Expressway Entrance Road in Nugaduwa, Galle on March 26, 2025.

The new location, BYD’s second dealership in Sri Lanka, features a state-of-the-art showroom designed to offer customers the same premium experience as its flagship Colombo facility. The showroom showcases BYD’s latest lineup, including the BYD SEALION 6, BYD ATTO 3, BYD SEAL, BYD DOLPHIN, and BYD M6, providing customers in the region with access to the brand’s cutting-edge electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

“BYD’s expansion in Sri Lanka is a testament to our long-term commitment to advancing the NEV landscape in the country,” said Charitha Subasinghe, Retail Sector President, John Keells Group. “With the launch of our Galle showroom, we are not only enhancing accessibility for customers in the region but also laying the foundation for a robust and sustainable NEV ecosystem—one that delivers cutting-edge mobility solutions while shaping the future of transportation in Sri Lanka.”

In addition to the showroom, plans are underway to introduce a dedicated service center in Galle, further strengthening after-sales support for BYD customers. The new facility aligns with the brand’s long-term vision of expanding its infrastructure and service network across Sri Lanka.

As part of its broader commitment to strengthening Sri Lanka’s NEV infrastructure, BYD and John Keells CG Auto are also supporting the expansion of EV charging facilities across key locations in the country. With charging stations already operational in Colombo, Negombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, and along the Southern corridor to Karapitiya, Matara, and Tangalle—as well as key hubs in Puttalam, Kurunegala, and Kandy—the expanding network enhances accessibility and convenience for EV owners across Sri Lanka. This investment in charging infrastructure aligns with BYD’s vision of fostering a comprehensive ecosystem that supports the transition to sustainable mobility.

With the successful launch of the Galle showroom, BYD and John Keells CG Auto continue to drive the adoption of next-generation NEVs in Sri Lanka, delivering advanced technology, superior performance, and exceptional customer service.
