Suwa Diviya, the dedicated not-for-profit organization focused on promoting healthier lifestyles and diabetes awareness, is set to host a pivotal public event on November 4th, 2023, at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute marking World Diabetes Month. Under the theme “Unmask Diabetes. This event aims to shine a spotlight on diabetes, its prevention, and the indispensable community work carried out by Suwa Diviya. The event is open to the public and will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The day will commence with an engaging presentation on diabetes prevention, where attendees will gain invaluable insights into practical measures they can adopt to reduce their risk of diabetes. Renowned endocrinologist, Dr. Dimuthu Muthukuda, will serve as the guest speaker, conducting an informative session on understanding diabetes. Dr. Muthukuda will illuminate the complexities of this chronic condition, helping attendees grasp its nuances.
A distinguished and diverse panel of specialists will also grace the event, including a Consultant Cardiologist, a Consultant Ophthalmologist, a Consultant Nephrologist, a Family Physician, a consultant nutritionist and a fitness based rehabilitator. These professionals will actively participate in a Q&A session, providing attendees with the opportunity to seek guidance and insights directly from them.
In addition to these informative sessions, the event will offer two segments focusing on cardiovascular health and the pivotal role of nutrition in managing diabetes. To add an element of excitement and fitness to the day, an invigorating Zumba session will be led held to energize the audience.
