The Art of Mahagama Sekera | Exhibition” presented by Alliance Française de Colombo in collaboration with the Mahagama Sekera Archives, brings together paintings spanning two decades of the legendary Sri Lankan artist and author Mahagama Sekera’s artistic journey.
Marking his legacy within Sri Lankan humanities and the global post-colonial imagination, the opening programme featured the commemorative lecture “Their burden did I own”: the patient genius of Mahagama Sekera by Prof. Arjuna Parakrama, alongside reflections by visual artist and senior lecturer Mr. Jagath Raveendra.
The exhibition will be on display at the Alliance Française de Colombo from 14–15 January 2026
